Sports In October Is Great; But Give Me Some NBA Home Cooking!!

NFL , baseball playoffs, hockey, college football. It's all good! But, I  yearn for nightly NBA hoops with my season's pass. Knicks and their new "triangle offense", Lebron and the Cavs, Kobe and  Jeremy  Lin, post-Lebron  Heat, the Bulls with  Pau and Derrick Rose back. Haven't even hardly mentioned the West.
So while  preseason hoops has started; the real deal  begins on 10/28 !  Hey, that's just me.....

Enjoy!!

All I Can Say is , "What a Day For The NBA"!

Yesterday, a non-football Sunday , was a hoop fan's dream day ! First game Celts beat Heat in double OT. Lebron 34 points. Pierce a "triple-double". Game 2 was special . "A playmaking Kobe" and the Lakers trying to"right the ship" beat Durant(35 points) and OKC . Playoff atmosphere and more.
Finally game 3. Melo and the Knicks on a Sunday night at home, went down to the last shot attempt by Josh Smith to get the "W". Melo only hit 9 3's and erupted for  42  to lead the Knicks.
    What a day!

NBA Hoops; Steve Nash to Lakers, Doesn't Get Any Better!

Give Mitch Kupchak and the Lakers credit. Anything short of a championship is not acceptable to them . They're like the West Coast Yankees. A tough second round exit at the hands of the Thunder, release of Derek Fisher, Kobe's quest for another ring and the fans thirst to win, win ,win prompted Kupchak to "pull off " the move of the off-season . Yes, 2 -time MVP Steve Nash to the Lakers for a series of first and second round draft picks. If somehow the Lakers can land an athletic-shooting small forward ,Kobe could have a shot at number 6!
I gotta tell you, I'm a Knicks fan, but I'm excited. Just renewed my NBA League Pass. Kobe playing alongside one of the best "true point guards " of this generation. A guy who looks to PASS first and shoot second. Nash will make Kobe's life (and shot selection) so much easier. And Stevie Nash must be drooling . Playing 2 man, inside -outside with Bynum . Either Nash or Bynum could average 25 a game. Did we forget the "high pick and roll " with Gasol?(That rhymes). Nash, can and will make everyone better. He could average 15 assists per game.
Nash and Kobe will be on a mission together. Kobe goes for number 6, Nash his first ring. Sky is the limit . I hope to stay up for at least 40-50 Laker games this upcoming season .
Only question that remains is whether Nash can get Mehta World Peace to take his medicine every day.

NBA Basketball; Are Bulls as Good Without Rose as With? I'm Only Asking?

Ok , we all know Derrick Rose was the League MVP last year. Amazing point guard . Goes to hole and hits unbelievable acrobatic shots. Clutch . Athletic . One of two best point guards in the league ...I get all that . But is the "Bulls team" as good without him as with him?
Couple of points. He's played an unbelievable amount of minutes over the last four years. Now has what appears to be a chronic lower back condition. Needs the ball in his hands . Doesn't shoot a great % from the floor and takes a lot of shots.
The Bulls as we know predominantly beat you with D, D, D , rebounding and hustle . Of course you got Deng, Boozer, Lucas the 3rd, Korver, Gibson et al who can all score . But the Bulls are about TEAM! In Rose's absence they've played .700 ball . Lucas has fit in nicely and has scored the ball. Contributions from everyone across the board . So are they actually as good without him ?
Answer ; In a long NBA regular season probably . But come playoffs , where scoring the ball becomes much more difficult...The answer is no. So of course they need him, but I think the Bulls have found out something out about themselves during his absence .

They are very good team without him, and possibly a great team with him!

Let's see if they can break through this year.
